Ernest Thompson - Chicken Roost Behind The Moon

Published 1924

Ernest Thompson sings "Chicken Roost Behind The Moon", accompanying himself on banjo and harmonica. From the original 78rpm disk, which was recorded in April of 1924.

The song was originally written in 1899 by W.J.Simons (under the title "There is No Chicken That Can Roost Too High For Me") but has become a folk standard and exists in many versions.
